Farooq Abdullah Became NC President: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and senior leader Dr. Farooq Abdullah has once again become the President of the National Conference (NC). No other candidate had filed nomination for the post of Speaker. Only Farooq Abdullah filed the nomination and all the delegates supported him. On this occasion, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other senior leaders of the party congratulated Farooq Abdullah.

Omar Abdullah congratulated Farooq Abdullah on his re-election as party president. Umar said that Farooq Sahab shocked us all when during a meeting he announced his resignation from the post of president. The party could not allow him to leave the party leadership. Omar Abdullah said, “I persuaded him to accept this post, otherwise there will be no party president and we assure you that now after you are re-elected, we will carry forward your mission.”

What did Farooq Abdullah say?

Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said that he wanted to give up the post of party president, but Omar Abdullah convinced him to take the post. Farooq Abdullah said that he had asked all the leaders of the party including Omar to bring forward the youth and prepare the leadership of the party. Farooq Abdullah further said that his party made a mistake by not participating in the Panchayat elections and now they are showing a wrong image and development through the visits of Union Ministers. From now on we will participate in all elections and also ask Umar to reconsider his decision of not contesting. Umar should also contest elections for the public.

This allegation was made on BJP

He said that our workers are being asked to join BJP. We never helped people on the basis of party, but now our workers are being harassed even for small tasks. He warned the government, including the army and security forces, not to interfere in the elections, saying that if the government tried to influence the elections, he would hit the streets against it. BJP is trying to buy MLAs and MPs all over the country and I warn the people of Jammu and Kashmir that such attempts will be made here as well. That’s why people have to be alert.
